Although practice takes place during the class, but you must commit to practicing Reiki with other students in your Reiki class or with family or friends. You need this additional practice to gain the experience and confidence to fully utilize your Reiki training.

The Master Attunement Is A Powerful Healing Experience:
The successful completion of this training qualifies Reiki practitioners to pass the ability to do Reiki on to others; and to teach, if one chooses.
The Three Degrees of Reiki
Reiki I:
After instruction and having received the first attunement, the new Reiki practitioner has been prepared to offer the basic energy transfer. In my Reiki I and II weekend intensives attunements for Reiki I and II, Reiki I is taught on Saturday and both Reiki I and II attunements are usually given together on Sunday.
Reiki II:
At this level, the training is becomes more involved and the practitioner receives the Reiki symbols with the second attunement. The practitioner is also now able to perform remote Reiki.
Reiki III/Reiki Master:
Upon receiving the third attunement, the practitioner's knowledge and skills are expanded and intensified. The student receives instruction on how to pass the attunements; and guidance on how to use and transfer power and sacred symbols as a Reiki Master/Teacher.
The Reiki Principles:
Several years after developing Reiki, during a meditation, Dr. Usui decided to add the Reiki principles (or ideals) to the practice of Reiki. They were derived, at least in part, from the five principles of the Meiji emperor of Japan whom Dr. Usui admired. These ideals were added to develop spiritual balance to Usui Reiki. The principles help one realize that healing the spirit by consciously deciding to improve one's 'self' is necessary to the "Being" in the Reiki healing experience.
The principles are the heart of Reiki; but they also serve well as guidelines or ideals for living a gracious life. If you think about it, the world itself would be healed on the whole, if every individual lived these simple Reiki principles. As such, they are virtues worthy of practice by all, whether they practice Reiki or not, for their inherent value:
The secret art of inviting happiness...
The miraculous medicine of all diseases:
For today only, Anger not
Worry not
Be grateful and humble
Do your work with honesty
Be kind to all
Every morning and evening, join your hands in Gassho
Pray these words to your heart
and chant these words with your mouth
The Usui Reiki Method
to change your mind and body for the better

Seeking a Teacher/Becoming a Reiki Master
When seeking a Reiki Master from whom to receive the Master training and attunement, it is important to ask exactly what to expect. Will you receive the complete training and be able to initiate others into all the degrees including full Reiki Master?
Becoming a Reiki Master is a serious undertaking. First, you must receive Reiki I and II training and attunements, and have practical experience as a Reiki practitioner. Second, you must meditate on your purpose and intent, and decide if Reiki Mastership is in harmony with it. Third, find a Reiki Master to study with who is genuine and competent; and with whom you feel rapport; one who will support you after your attunement.
Becoming a Reiki Master implies that you will be able to initiate or attune others into Reiki. Therefore, it is important to find a teacher who will spend time in class helping you practice the attunement process.
